Description
NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is governed by partners and focused on collaboration as a means of driving improved outcomes for people in West Yorkshire. We are committed to the 2.4 million people living here, in Bradford District and Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield District. Working with our Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), we have made progress in many areas and developed some outstanding practice, addressing issues that have required collective effort to overcome. We are proud of the work of our ICB and the reputation that we have gained nationally. We know there is much more to do to further reduce inequalities and ensure the biggest difference can be made for our communities from the significant investments that we make.
Our new Chair will lead our Unitary Board, ensuring good and transparent governance, risk management and performance of our organisation with responsibility for the deployment of significant NHS resources. Accountable to the Regional Director for NHS England, they will create an approach built on diversity, partnership, collaboration and improving outcomes for local people, all firmly focused on our four core purposes. Our Chair will be independent of all stakeholders and partnerships within the system and will demonstrate the highest level of professional integrity and probity. They will help set the culture and focus for our ICP, which is comprised of NHS, local government, Healthwatch, hospices, the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector (VCSE), business and communities.
This is a complex and dynamic role, and we are seeking an inspiring and inclusive leader. NHS experience is not essential. We are seeking a system leader with strong board governance experience, a commitment to social justice and the ability to connect with partners across the system. Politically astute and with a credible track record in leading transformational change in public services, you will create conditions that promote and enable collaboration and innovation. With broad experience you will connect the work of the ICB with the wider region, within communities that make up our diverse area, with our local enterprise partnerships and the West Yorkshire Mayor. This is an exceptional leadership role and a real opportunity to impact on reducing inequalities and improving the well-being and lives of our populations and workforce across West Yorkshire.
If you share our values and ambitions and have the skills and experience, we need, we would love to hear from you. Please visit www.joinwestyorkshireicb.org.uk and call Will McAlpine, Emma Pickup or Robin Staveley via 07554050236 or will.mcalpine@gatenbysanderson.com to discuss your interest further.
